Phase 1: La península

La Peninsula represents Pearl Island’s first phase of development, located on the Zancadilla peninsula part of the settlement. Designed by world-renowned New York architecture and master planning firm Hart Howerton, La Peninsula provides a limited number of home sites, residences and apartments for sale. This is complemented with a variety of leisure activities and services that are fully integrated with the island’s natural environment, allowing residents and guests the unique opportunity of having an authentic private island experience.

Phase 2: Ritz Carlton Reserve

A Ritz Carlton Reserve resort with 80 rooms and 80 branded residences is to be developed on Playa Don Bernardo and Playa Mague, two of the most spectacular beaches of Pearl Island, with total area of 50 hectares. The resort will include a main lodge, beach club, spa, kid’s club, dive and fishing center, tennis, retail and other leisure facilities.

The private Marina on the West side of La Peninsula offers 46 berths for yachting and sailing enthusiasts in the initial phase of development. When it‘s later connected to a larger marina, it’s anticipated to be among the few largest marinas on the Pacific side of the America’s continent with over 250 berths.

Beach Club

A two-story stone and wood Beach Club opens directly onto the white sands of Playa Tortuga on La Peninsula. The Beach Club’s informally furnished thatched-roof pavilion will provide a casually gracious service and fresh dishes created from locally harvested organic ingredients. The adjacent Recreation Club will offer a Kids’ club pool and tennis courts.

Life on Pearl Island allows for a wide range of pursuits that appeal to different interests. Boating enthusiasts will fall in love with the sailing Mecca of Panama, hopping from island to island and from one deserted beach to another. This unspoiled natural paradise is ideal for world-class fishing, sailing, snorkeling, and diving expeditions, as well as forest hikes and equestrian adventures. Excursions can be organized to local national marine parks and surrounding islands that make for incredible diving and snorkeling experiences.

Enjoy an exceptional biodiversity

Pearl Island’s virgin tropical forest, its lagoons, rivers, and tiny offshore islets are home to 16 species of mammals and 20 species of lizards and amphibians. As one of the world’s greatest bird sanctuaries, it nurtures over 150 species, including a vast population of migrating pelicans. The ocean surrounding it is home to five species of whales and serves as a rendezvous region for families of humpback whales during the majority of the year, moving between Mexico and Panama.

It is an extraordinary sanctuary, a true hidden gem, offering endless information for biologists and archaeologists alike who seek to better understand the nature and history of the area.

As the third largest island in Las Perlas archipelago, Pearl Island (geographically named Isla Pedro Gonzalez) is 46 nautical miles South of Panama City.
